I Moved to Steamboat to Raise a Family
Dated: May 8 2013
Chad Fleischer, Olympic skier and recent inductee into the Colorado Ski Hall of Fame, like many people who move to Steamboat says he moved here to raise his family. Having grown up in Vail, Colorado, it is significant that he chose Steamboat Springs over Vail as the place to raise his family.
Why Steamboat Springs? Recently US News and World Report named Steamboat High School one of the best high schools in the nation. It was ranked 20th best high school in the state based on acedemic performance.
The survey ranked 458 high schools in the state and Steamboat ranked in the top 20. Nationally, Steamboat Springs was ranked among the top 3%. unlike other skier based communities, Steamboat is a real community that has nurtured and raised not only numerous Olympic atheletes but many that have gone on to be doctors, lawyers, aid workers and all around great people.
In the Pilot and Today paper yesterday a reader who came to Steamboat to live his dream for two years wrote
"I can think of no better place than Steamboat Springs to start and raise a family. I will be back. Thank you Steamboat and thank you to the community for everything you have given me during the past two years. I wish everyone the best and look forward to my return one day." Brian Berkelbach.
Like Brian. so many of our clients came here for a short time and never got Steamboat out of their head. Like the Ute Indians promised, the Valley will be cursed forever, you will come but never leave!
